Meet Miss Casey Decker!

I met Casey a couple months ago through my new roommate, Lauren (you might remember Lauren from the shoot at the orchard - she's also the proud Mom of the Bella the cat).

I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Casey. She's just one of those people that lights up a room with her smile. When Casey asked me to take some photos of her to promote her upcoming recital at the Berklee College of Music on Sunday, February 21st, I was beyond honored. Did I mention this little beauty sings Opera?! True story. We had a beautiful day for the shoot and I got to hangout at my favorite neighborhood location, Castle Island!

I'll end it with my 2 favorites:

I hope you enjoy the pictures Casey! I can't wait to hear your beautiful voice in February.

Happy Halloween!

I know several of you have been inquiring about my lack of blog postings. My lame excuse: I have been crazy busy with life, boring. But yes, I am still doing shoots. Some of the recent shoots I've done are for surprise holiday gifts, so I don't want to give away those photos before the Holidays. :)

Now onto something a little more exciting.

For those of you that know me, you know I like any excuse to dress up and be silly/over the top, which is why I ADORE Halloween.

I've already expressed my love of self timers, well this love combined with Halloween made for some pretty glorious pre-Halloween festivities photos of
Red Sox Player Youkilis, a censored girl (yes, that's me), Lady Gaga and an 80's Rockstar!

No clue what I thought was sooo funny in this picture, but I was sure loving life:

Love the self timer:

Hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween!
Thanks for a great night out ladies.

Mr. & Mrs. Michael Tavares - October 22, 2009

Congratulations Mike & Mel (Mr. & Mrs. Tavares)!!!
I have known Mike since I was 5 years old. Actually, I think I may have even received my first "award" ever in my life from Mike on the playground in 3rd grade. Mike was very crafty with computers and there was a program (Mike you'll have to remind me of the program) that had an award certificate making program on it. Anyways, Mike made me an award for having the "sexiest legs", needless to say Mel caught herself a keeper 10 years ago... yes, these two love birds starting dating in Junior High. If that isn't true love, I don't know what is! I am so lucky to have witnessed your love blossom all through junior and high school, college (in different states) and through your engagement.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from your perfect, special day.

Here comes the bride with her Dad:

The kiss (a little different than their first kiss I heard all about 10 years ago, that took place in the backseat of Mike's mother's car - and yes, it was while she was driving... I'm letting all your secrets out!!)

First dance, so beautiful:

The bouquet toss:

Mel had little details showcasing her artist side throughout the reception, like the table names (I was at Modern):

Me and the Tavares, wooohoo:

Congratulations!
I am so happy I could share in your special day.

Chicago - Teddy, Petey & Leah

This past weekend Teddy, Petey, Leah & I spent a few days in Chicago. Weekends like this remind me of how lucky I am to have amazing friends in my life. I've known Ted and Peter since elementary school and can't imagine life without them. They remind me of how strong friendships can be even when weeks go by without seeing or even talking to one another. Leah is Teddy's girlfriend and she's the perfect addition to all of our outings (she saves me from fantasy football talk). It'll be interesting to see how me and Pete's significant others will fit into the group (years from now, obviously), haha.

Loved Wrigley Park. Chicago does not mess around when they say "ultimate hot dog":

Ohh Teddy:

I made Petey model for me. He secretly loved it:

Leah noticed this sign in (yes in) the tree:

Beautiful fall foliage in Chicago and Teddy too:

I can't wait for Rio 2016. :)

Kodiak, Alaska - Margo and Roger

My full time job requires me to travel all over the United States (I know, I'm pretty lucky). My latest travels brought me to Alaska. I was able to hike (which I would later discover, was more of a casual walk up a path than a hike) to the Byron Glacier right outside of Anchorage, fly on the smallest plane of my life to Cordova and then hop on over to Kodiak to visit with my brother and his girlfriend Margo! I have tons of pictures of my travels, but I've decided that I'm happiest sharing my pictures that include people in them. I think that people tell a story and it's pretty amazing to look back on photos and remember the exact moment the shot was taken, what was being said, how the "pose" happened, etc. The pictures I'm about to share (except for the last 3) were taken on what Marg and Rog had told me would be an easy hike. Not exaggerating, 2 minutes into the hike I was questioning my decision to embrace mother nature - heart racing, sweating, legs burning - yes, I'm only 24 years old - shocking. My older brother clearly found humor in this, but as it turned out the beginning steep incline to start the hike was the most difficult part of the hike except for when I ran across a log and took a tree branch to the forehead. Oh memories in Alaska. Did I mention that on my "hike" to the Glacier, I slipped on a wet rock and fell camera first to the ground... scariest.moment.of.my.life.... I think I laid on the ground a good 30 seconds before I could look at my camera and see if it had survived the (graceful) fall. Luckily it did and now my camera has a slight battle wound and a story to go along with it!

Here's Margo:
In this picture Roger has one of the really long, slimy, slippery (okay I fell on this hike too) pieces of seaweed that wash up on Kodiak's shorelines.

Haha, I love this picture. Margo has her pocket knife out ready to cut the hammock down and Roger is just relaxing loving life.

This hammock was about halfway through the hike. I took Roger's pictures quickly, so I could lay down and mentally prepare to continue on. I have gained a new respect for photographers who have the drive to go to uncommon places for photo shoots.

The leaves in Kodiak were without a doubt the largest leaves I've ever seen. The colors of the foliage in Kodiak were pretty incredible along the whole hike too.

Roger learns a lot from the TV shows he watches with Margo. He kept telling me he was listening to Tyra Banks and "smiling with his eyes".

The next three pictures are Roger showing off his Coast Guard Officer strength. Haha, I love my brother.

Now he's just being awesome:

Push ups on the log:

Margo and Roger. Look at the color of the water, so amazing.

Being Kodiak is such a damp place, moss grows all over the trees. Moss's real purpose in life is as facial hair:

This not so little guy was just chilling on the side of the road when we drove through. I love how he stared right at the car:

Kodiak has their only brewery. They brew a "Sara PALe Ale".

Dead Salmon line the waterways in Kodiak. I will never forget the smell of these fish, ever.

Thank you for a wonderful visit Roger and Margo. And thank you for being such wonderful models. :)
xoxo
