Sneak Peak - Erin & Rich E-Session

E-Session
Erin & Rich

When Erin and I first picked a date to do her engagement photos back in February for a weekend in May, I was a little worried about the weather since last May's weather wasn't so kind to us. I literally checked the weather everyday once the 10 day forecast was up. When I woke up the day of the shoot, I jumped out of bed and ripped open the curtains to a photographer's dream day. In a little under an hour and a half, we had snapped away over 250 AMAZING pictures in the Boston Public Gardens. I'm not joking when I say that every picture I took I was in love with. I wanted to turn the camera around and show Erin and Rich how wonderful they were after nearly every shot. Needless to say, these pictures are just a little teaser for the bride and groom to be.

These are my favorite 5 photos taken out of the first 50 frames we took....

Rich and Erin brought along their adorable dog Willow to take some pictures with them too. Willow was such a natural (you were too Rich)!!

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

A Father Means...

A Father means so many things...
A understanding heart,
A source of strength and of support
Right from the very start.
A constant readiness to help
In a kind and thoughtful way.
With encouragement and forgiveness
No matter what comes your way.
A special generosity and always affection too
A Father means so many things
When he’s a man like you...

Everyone now and then, you capture a moment with your camera... when the light is just right, when everything is pure, and when even words can't describe what the image expresses.

Pictures like this remind me of why I love photography so much...
and it also reminds me of how much I love these two guys!!! :)

Ava Mae Katherine Williams

I know, I know... I fell off the blog bandwagon like CRAZY (you can thank my first Tax Season as an Asset Manager on that one). But, now that I'm an Aunty (again) I have something, well someone, to brag about and show off. I have a million other pictures I need to get up here and I'm gearing up for a very busy summer full of E-Sessions/Weddings/Family Portraits/Etc. , so I'm pretty excited. I apologize for my lack of postings to distract you from work you don't want to be doing... ;)

I proudly introduce my beautiful niece:

AVA MAE KATHERINE

Does is make me a bad Aunty if I think she's adorable when she's crying?

Aggh, so perfect.

Congratulations Carly and Jim! (... a little late)

In spirit of the amount of inquires I have received regarding the quickly approaching 2010 wedding season, it reminded me that I neglected to do a posting for Carly and Jim's wedding. They had the most beautiful Cape Cod wedding and luckily the weather held out for us.

Their wedding was a special day for me because it was the first time I have been the main photographer at a wedding. Luckily I was joined by my photography buddy Myra Kushon who flew up from DC. Myra has taught me a ton about photography, so it was good to have her by my side. We had so much fun together and made such a great team that we have discussed second shooting for each other in future weddings we have booked.

I proudly present... (a few months late):

Smalling Ladies!

When Chandler contacted me to take some photos of her, I was super excited. I always joke and tell people that pretty people make pretty pictures, so I knew Chandler's pictures would be stunning because well, she's stunning. After Chandler and I picked a date for the shoot, Chandler told me her sister, Jordan, and mother would be in town from Vermont that day and wanted to get some photos of the three of them to give as gifts for Christmas. (I had to use every ounce of self control I had to do this posting after Christmas).

The Smalling ladies snuck out of the house and claimed they were going shopping and met me at Castle Island for the shoot. I had never met Chandler's mom or sister, but as soon as I saw the three ladies together I knew we were going to have a fun day with lots of pretty pictures (pretty people = pretty pictures!). I have never laughed so much during a shoot. Chandler's mom was a riot. Jordan and their mom were cheering on Chandler as she did her solo shots ... "work the camera"! After Chandler's mom saw some of the teaser photos she e-mailed me saying "The photos are FANTASTIC..….. (You made this old broad look halfway decent!!!)… You captured all of us so well, and I can’t wait to see the others!!!". Did I mention how funny her mom was?!

Thanks for a fun day. :)

Such a fun day.

I hope the men in your lives (and grandma) enjoyed their Christmas gifts!

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

My friends in Ireland, Kate and Tony (I can't wait for your visit in March!), were looking through some holiday photos I had posted on Facebook and sent me a message: "the photo of you with Aiden who we think is your godson shows how much pleasure you can get from the simple things in life!!!!!...a cardboard box.." I loved this message because it made me take a second and think about how blessed I am and how it truly is the little things in life that make such a difference.

Here are some pictures of Aiden playing with his favorite gift, the box his new bike came in.

I hope these pictures help us remember:
'It's the simple things in life that are the most extraordinary.' -Paulo Coelho

Peek-a-Boo:

Race Car (Aiden was the driver):

And then when Aiden was done with the box, he asked to be duct taped to the door (completely normal):

And incase my blog readers don't facebook stalk me, I have some very exciting news!!
Aiden is going to be a BIG BROTHER in May.
I can't wait to have a niece & meet Miss Ava Mae Katherine (and take a million pictures of her)!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

Meet Miss Casey Decker!

I met Casey a couple months ago through my new roommate, Lauren (you might remember Lauren from the shoot at the orchard - she's also the proud Mom of the Bella the cat).

I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Casey. She's just one of those people that lights up a room with her smile. When Casey asked me to take some photos of her to promote her upcoming recital at the Berklee College of Music on Sunday, February 21st, I was beyond honored. Did I mention this little beauty sings Opera?! True story. We had a beautiful day for the shoot and I got to hangout at my favorite neighborhood location, Castle Island!

I'll end it with my 2 favorites:

I hope you enjoy the pictures Casey! I can't wait to hear your beautiful voice in February.

:)
